What a stationary engineer actually does

Stationary engineers, sometimes called boiler operators, run and maintain the fixed mechanical plant inside a building or facility — high-pressure boilers, steam and hot-water heating systems, chillers, compressors, generators, and the control systems that keep them within safe operating limits.
